Bio
Urban Strandberg is Dr., Associate Professor of Political Science, and Senior Lecturer at the University of Gothenburg. Strandberg is the Director and Co-founder of The International Youth Think Tank. The brightest 18-to-24-olds worldwide are recruited by open calls to yearly IYTT youth conferences. The 24 selected participants are called Youth Fellows. They develop policy proposals that are published in the Handbook for Innovative Democracy, Working Papers, and Policy Briefs. They take to the streets and engage in conversations with passers-by with a citizen-centric method they developed themselves called Open Chair Democracy Talks. Since its inception in 2021, Youth Fellows have been listening to people in 50 locations and 5 continents.

Round table: Added values of a coalition to promote democracy
This last session, more informal and interactive (following the ‘fish bowl’ dynamic), will address the role that alliances (including the Global Democracy Coalition) play in protecting and strengthening democracy regionally and globally. It will discuss the direction, priorities and governance that these alliances must have in order to play a relevant role and the tools and strategies that can be used to reach a greater impact.
